As the business grew and grew, the need for a place for his business to call home became quite the need. In 1982, he purchased an old sheet metal shop on Davidson Road in Plum where he could store his trucks and equipment.

In 1986, Bill’s son, Stephen (now co-owner), was born, and as he went through childhood, there was no doubt that he was going to do something with landscaping or construction. There were many picnic lunches in the front yard with the mow crew, or trips to local construction sites to let Stephen see the equipment, as well as birthday and Christmas gifts being construction toys.

In 2005, Bill retired from his teaching career, spending 35 years as a Wilkinsburg Tiger, and Stephen graduated from Gateway Senior High School. Stephen then went on to Slippery Rock University to study education (following his father’s footsteps).

Over the years, the business continued to grow and grow. At the start of everything, the main services offered were mowing, and trimming shrubs. As more employees started to work for the company, more services became available to offer to clients and customers.

In June of 2022, Stephen resigned from his teaching career, spending 11 years at Bradford Area High School as a Special Education Teacher, and became part owner of now Herrmann’s Ground Maintenance LLC.

Over the history of our business, we’ve expanded a great deal, starting from mowing and trimming shrubs and bushes, to now transforming entire properties and we greatly appreciate all of the customers and clients that have trusted us with their properties, as well as all of the employees who have helped us become the company we are today.
